TUSHAR SABALE

TUSHAR SABALE

LONDON, MY HOME

In his forthcoming exhibition, ‘London. My Home’, Tushar brings together a series of paintings that define London to him; a place he proudly calls Home.

It’s a collection of memories, places, emotions and expressions emoted on canvas from his everyday experiences.

  • I warmly welcome you to the captivating realm of Tushar Sabale. I was first introduced to Tushar’s work when he entered our Summer Exhibition 2023 open call. He, very much deservedly, was chosen to be our Green & Stone grand prize winner.

The first feeling I had on seeing Tushar’s work was how tender it was. His palette of bold colours and strong brush marks would normally drown a delicate interior scene of a girl playing the piano, but through his understanding of composition, he was able to capture this intimate and restful scene effortlessly. Tushar is truly a master of light and this much will be evident when you immerse yourselves in the evocative narrative of 46 beautifully crafted paintings that make up the essence of this exhibition, 'London, My Home.'

Tushar Sabale embodies artistic expression and proudly unfolds his love affair with this vibrant metropolis he now calls home. This exhibition serves as a visual ode to a creative spirit who has moved from the rich tapestry of India to the eclectic streets of London.

You'll find yourself transported through the seasons in locations that have left an indelible mark on Tushar's artistic psyche. From the refined elegance of South Kensington to the pulsating energy of Brick Lane, and from the historic charm of Greenwich to the regal allure of St. James and Pall Mall, each canvas breathes life into Tushar's enduring impressions.

The paintings, created with the technique of alla prima or derived from meticulous studies, distill the essence of Tushar's personal 'London diaries.’ These are not just canvases; they are portals into the artist's memories, each stroke telling a story of his journey through the bustling streets and tranquil corners of this magnificent city.

In addition to the paintings, Tushar graciously unveils a glimpse into his creative sanctum – his home studio. Here, a curated selection of pieces offers a unique perspective into the artist's process.

This is a visual feast – a celebration of art, love, and the profound connection between an artist and the city that has become his muse. 'London, my Home ' asks you to embark on a journey through Tushar Sabale's eyes, where every brushstroke is a testament to the enduring romance between an artist and his beloved urban sanctuary.

  • Tushar Sabale is an award winning Indian born, British artist based in London. He mainly paints ‘en plein air’ in oil colours but occasionally enjoys painting objects and has transitioned from painting portraits to landscapes in the recent years. He places his work between ‘Impressionism’ and ‘Realism’ with some ‘Luminist’ touches. After being a weekend painter for years, Tushar now paints full time.

He is an elected member of the prestigious ‘The Wapping Group of Artists’, established in 1946 with only 25 full members at any given time. The group meets at selected locations along the River Thames to paint the changing views of London through the years.

Tushar is also a proud member of ‘The British Plein Air Painters’, a group of professional artists based in the UK that share a passion for painting outdoors. The limit of the artists has been set to under 30.

He is also the co-founder of ‘The London Plein Air Group’ that has more than 200 artist members who come together every month to paint in the city of London.

In 2023, Tushar appeared on ‘Landscape Artist of the Year’- Series 8 as one of the Pod artists. It was filmed at Royal Ascot and aired on Sky Arts on 8 February 2023. He was one of the top 3 shortlisted artists.
