RECENT WORK
Mehri Foda’s recent works reveal an artist working with a rare and deeply instinctive confidence. Drawing inspiration from across Europe and the Middle East, her paintings absorb the atmosphere, architecture, colour and visual memory of these landscapes, transforming them into works that feel both intimate and timeless. Across still lifes, figurative scenes and architectural motifs, colour and shape are not merely compositional devices but the very language through which feeling, memory and rhythm are expressed. There is, of course, considerable technical accomplishment underpinning these paintings, years of observation, discipline and refinement, yet what distinguishes Mehri’s work is something far less teachable: an innate sensitivity to balance, tone and form. Her understanding of colour feels intuitive rather than calculated, guided as much by instinct as by intellect.
NEW PAINTINGS AND PRINTS
These paintings are about spaces, and people in spaces, real or imagined. In a room space or an outside space, they are more about the memory of a place or passing moment than a literal space.
The prints are mainly of figures and are made with a strong dry point line and areas of colour. Each print is individually coloured.

ENTANGLEMENT
A joint show featuring works by Emma Rosa and Chloe Farrant.
Entanglement explores the fragile interconnections between nature and material. Sculptures of flora and fauna emerge from the delicate pairing of porcelain, fabric & thread. Suspended between strength and fragility, Emma and Chloe bring together two distinct mediums to form delicate, well observed sculptures, reflecting on how living systems are woven together and how easily they can unravel.
REIMAGINED REALITIES
In gouache on wasli, Maheen Elahi evokes miniature nightscapes born of quiet unmooring. In the stillness after attachment loosens, the work lingers in suspended calm, where shadow softens and breath slows. Within indigo depths, faint glimmers of gold rise gently, as if something unseen is remembering itself.
Maheen Elahi is a Lahore-based visual artist working in contemporary miniature painting. A graduate of the National College of Arts, her practice examines landscape, memory, and liminal space through precise detail and layered imagery. She has exhibited in major galleries in Pakistan and international, contributing to the contemporary evolution of miniature painting.

‘‘When I began working towards this exhibition, I was interested in what happens when I start to force my own ideas into the landscape; swapping colours, taking out objects, moving hedgerows and trees, clearing everything artificial or stale out of the frame, all to enhance that sense of peace I long for — whilst allowing my emotions, hesitations, and curiosities to blossom from the palette knife to the paint surface. The inspiration lives between moments in time: things half remembered, sensed, warped, rather than copied or rendered. Making this work meant slowing down, trusting my process, and making a choice to paint things which made my world feel less chaotic and fragile. I hope the paintings help people find the same peace I did when I painted them.’’

INTO THE DEEP
This collection marks a notable shift from Justin’s earlier focus on oil portraiture. In his previous exhibitions (Chilled Portraits, 2024; Icons, 2025), portraiture was central to his practice. In this new body of work, Justin moves into landscapes and abstraction, while still retaining subtle echoes of the human form.

The exhibition aims to offer positive role models for women and girls in this still unequal world. By bringing to light stories of women who have overcome barriers and defied expectations, we hope to inspire others to push forward in their own lives. This project not only celebrates these women’s remarkable achievements but also strives to empower others by making them visible in the most literal sense.

Venetia Higgins × Crees Foundation for Manu
Fourteen years after first volunteering with the Crees Foundation, artist Venetia Higgins returned to the Peruvian Amazon to create 123 original miniature paintings celebrating one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.
Following a day of plein air painting across Chelsea, A Chelsea Paint Out: Exhibition brings together a curated selection of works created on Saturday, 16 May. Artists will capture the character of the neighbourhood — from the Thames and Albert Bridge to the streets of King’s Road and Sloane Square — responding in real time to light, atmosphere, and movement.
Selected by Hester Baldwin, the exhibition celebrates immediacy, observation, and the enduring tradition of painting outdoors. The works on display reflect a diversity of approaches, united by a shared engagement with place and the spontaneity of working en plein air.

There is a particular kind of joy that comes from sitting with artists as they talk, not just about their work, but about the world as they see it. In the case of these four, the experience is something richer still. The conversation loops easily between philosophy and paint, bronze and memory, light and form. What strikes me most is the depth of attentiveness to each other, to their materials, and to the quiet significance of their subjects.
FAMILIAr is an apt title. Not simply for the affection and creative kinship that connects Rockley, Cecil, Roud, and Burlò, but for the sense that each piece in this exhibition carries something recognisable, a lived moment, a fleeting mood, a landscape walked many times but seen anew. And yet, the familiar here is never static. These artists don’t pin things down; they give them space to move, to shift in meaning as we meet them with our own experiences.

The explosive excitement of the natural world is available to all of us. This exhibition is a visual journey through a garden’s seasons as seen and sensed by the viewer. The lens is focused from beyond the confines of the garden gate to reflect a fertile hotbed of magical sights and feelings through Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Amanda, a visionary artist known for her captivating exploration of nature’s mysteries, presents ‘Beyond the Garden Gate’.
From ancient civilisation to the present day, gardens have promoted paradise. In her wonderful book, The Well Gardened Mind, Sue Stuart-Smith substantiates the remarkable effects of nature on our health and well-being. She explores how the garden can be vital to cultivating the mind, restoring energy, or letting go of negativity. She also explores how a garden is a place of reality as well as fantasy.
And so, through a fusion of vibrant colours and flowing brushstrokes, Amanda guides you on a whimsical tour into the garden of imagination, where the ordinary dissolves into the extraordinary. It explores a verdant world so lush and rich in boundless sensory pleasures, you can almost smell it!
"My childhood garden was where I first learned to explore independence, fumble with the wonders of a daisy chain, taste the sweetness of a stolen raspberry, sow seeds to cultivate flowers and vegetables, snip rose petals to make heady scent, find bugs and brush mud from my grazed knees. It was where my brothers and I created magical worlds of make-believe in dens and treehouses. It was Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, and Roald Dahl fantastical. And then we grew up.
As years are harvested and the playgrounds of my adulthood pass through the seasons, I paint pictures with emotion, memories, and feelings of my favourite scenes in parks and gardens. I see ‘Enchanted Land, Garden Treasures, Sense of Wonder, Wildly Exciting, Fruits of Spring, Dreams of Green, Find Your Heart in the Garden and Tomorrow is a Vision of Hope. I feel the joy in the garden and paint the magic as I see it from ‘beyond the garden gate’.’’

I’ve never really considered myself a photographer—more of an enthusiast with an obsession for expensive camera gear. My photos have rarely ventured beyond the walls of my study. But after years of gentle (and, at times, not-so-gentle) nudging from my friends and family, I’m finally sharing a selection.
These images don’t follow a specific narrative or hold any particular meaning; they are simply moments that caught my eye during the years I’ve been fortunate enough to live in or visit various places. But that’s beside the point. The pictures are just a hook.
Two years ago, my brother-in-law, Chris Middleton, passed away from Frontotemporal Dementia, a devastating illness that, as his daughter Julia so poignantly described, causes the patient to die not once but again and again. The family endures this agony for years
Chris was extraordinarily gifted and an exceptional journalist. He had a unique ability to observe the world through brilliant snapshots of writing, always resisting the pull of clickbait journalism. He was also, above all, the kindest of men.
These pictures are not for sale, but if anyone would like one, I’ll be happy to send it over after the exhibition, with the hope and understanding that a donation will be made to The National Brain Appeal. The charity aims to transform the lives of millions of people living with neurological and neuromuscular conditions. They drive advancement by funding pioneering research, innovative treatments and world-class facilities – over and above what the NHS can provide.
This exhibition is a small gesture of thanks to those who helped during Chris’ illness and to Chris himself—a way to honour Chris.
FLORAL FIREWORKS AT WOBURN ABBEY

Taking place this September a total of 23 botanical artists will be exhibiting in excess of 50 contemporary botanical-themed paintings to celebrate the Humphry Repton-inspired gardens at Woburn Abbey.
Working closely with Woburn Abbey’s Estate Garden Manager, Martin Towsey, this talented group of artists has taken inspiration from the colourful plants displayed in the height of summer within the living collection at Woburn Abbey’s splendid historical gardens in Bedfordshire.
A percentage of the artists’ sales will be donated to the Duchess of Bedford’s chosen local charity, MKSNAP: Special Needs Advancement Placement (Milton Keynes). MKSNAP provides a leading programme of education, life skills, work preparation and opportunities for work to adults aged 18-plus with learning disabilities, giving them the skills to realise their potential.
The theme, Floral Fireworks, was chosen by Woburn Abbey to highlight the colourful spectacle of a garden in its full summer splendour and to celebrate the pleasure we all derive from flowers and nature in full bloom.
The exhibition will feature full-size works in watercolour by Amicus Botanicus alongside a collection of ‘affordable art’ miniature paintings.

Kate’s passion for art is rooted in aesthetics and its ability to uplift spirits and bring character and joy into a home. Setting up Kate Preston Art in 2019 from her home in North Yorkshire was the realisation of a long-held desire to begin selling art and, at the same time, support up-and-coming artists. ‘I am a lifelong art lover and get such pleasure from buying a piece of art to go on our initially empty and today, increasingly eclectic and full walls at home in Yorkshire. But I don’t have a big budget, and looking for new, affordable artists is time-consuming and often too expensive, not to mention intimidating at certain galleries or auction houses.’ she says.
Her aim at Kate Preston Art is to be able to do some of the leg work for people and make the art-buying experience less daunting and more approachable. By showcasing the work of a small number of lovely, talented artists, anyone interested in buying a piece of art can discover gorgeous work that is affordable. Now in 2024, Kate is opening a new chapter with a week-long exhibition called ’Town & Country’ at The Gallery at Green & Stone on London’s Fulham Road.
With ’Town & Country’, Kate brings a slice of the countryside to London, showcasing the work of ten talented emerging artists and over 50 new paintings and artworks. The work includes beautiful still lifes in oil and watercolour, contemporary and abstract landscapes, big and playful limited edition prints and several gorgeous ceramics. As Kate says, ’Whether you’re looking for a special anniversary or wedding present, or doing a refurbishment at home and need to refresh your walls .. this exhibition is the perfect starting point. WATER & SHADOW
This selection of paintings are very personal, exploring water often through my own shadow. Water as seen through, pebbles, ripples and shadows reflected on it. Shadows, reflections, and water merge; like an alchemical process. Shadow gives form to the water, something more tangible I could hold on to – to define the shape of water on a static canvas – just before it would ripple away again through my fingers.
