SUMMER EXHIBITION 2026

SUBMISSIONS CLOSE: 3 June 2026, midday

KEY INFORMATION

  • The Summer Exhibition 2026 is open to all artists aged 18+, from anywhere in the world. Artists may submit their own work or authorise a representative to submit on their behalf.

  • We welcome all media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media and original printmaking.

    Works must:

    • be created within the last 3 years

    • be for sale

    • be available until 1 October 2026

    • not exceed 100 cm in any direction (including frame)

    • not have been exhibited in a London gallery within the last 3 years

  • For our Summer Exhibition, we accept original prints only.

    Accepted:
    Works made using traditional printmaking processes, including but not limited to:

    • Relief (e.g. linocut, woodcut)

    • Intaglio (e.g. etching, engraving)

    • Planographic (e.g. lithography, monotype)

    • Stencil (e.g. screenprint, risograph)

    These should be created from a hand-worked matrix (block, plate, stone, or screen).

    Not accepted:

    • Digital prints

    • Giclée prints

    • Reproductions of existing artworks

    • Any work printed directly from a digital file

    Simple rule:
    If it’s handmade through a print process → ✅
    If it’s digitally printed → ❌

    We understand that some contemporary practices sit between categories. If you are unsure whether your work qualifies, please contact us with:

    • A brief description of your process

    • Images of the work

    The Green & Stone Award (awarded by Green & Stone)
    A fully funded solo show for the artist who exhibits a natural feeling for their medium and its aesthetic potential.

    The De Laszlo Foundation Young Artist Award (awarded by Damon and Sandra de Laszlo)
    A £3,000 cash award to a young artist aged 30 or under.

    The De Laszlo Foundation Highly Commended Young Artist (awarded by Damon and Sandra de Laszlo)
    A £500 cash award to a young artist aged 30 or under.

    The De Laszlo Foundation Surrealist Award (awarded by Damon and Sandra de Laszlo)
    A £3,000 cash prize awarded to the best surrealist-inspired artwork.

    The De Laszlo Foundation Surrealist Highly Commended Award (awarded by Damon and Sandra de Laszlo)
    A £500 cash prize awarded to a surrealist artwork with the most potential.

    The People’s Choice Award (awarded by the Public)
    A £500 Green & Stone voucher to the artist who shows the most potential.

    The Damian Greenish Drawing Award (awarded by Damian Greenish)
    A £500 cash prize for the strongest drawing.

    The Michael Harding Oil Painting Award (awarded by the Judges)

    The Schmincke Award for Watercolour (awarded by the Judges)

    The Sennelier Award for Pastel (awarded by the Judges)

  • Works are selected by a guest panel that changes each year, ensuring the exhibition remains diverse and distinctive.

    All works are selected ‘blind’, meaning the panel is unaware of the artist’s name or any personal information.

    Our guest panel will be announced shortly via social media!

  • All entries must be submitted through the Summer Exhibition ArtOpps Portal.

    • Portal opens: 25 March 2026

    • Portal closes: 3 June 2026 (12 noon)

    • No changes can be made after submission

    • Selection announced: 15 June 2026 (via portal login)

    Artists are responsible for checking their selection status. Entry fees are non-refundable.

    • £20 per artwork

    • Maximum of 3 artworks per artist

    • Young Artists Discount: Artists aged 30 or under on the day of submission may submit at £15 per artwork

  • Please upload a JPEG under 5MB.

    Images must:

    • be photographed in natural light

    • show all edges of the work

    • use a clean, light background

    • have the background removed where possible

    • not be edited in a way that alters the artwork

    Please ensure your hand is not in the photo.

    Please ensure that nothing is in the background of the photo, unless it is a clean white background.

    We recommend you photograph your work on a white wall, or on a white floor ensuring there is no shadow.

    Low-quality or misleading images may result in disqualification.

    • Frames must be simple: white, black, or light oak

    • Mounts must be white or off-white.

    • Coloured or black mounts will not be accepted.

    • No clip frames, metal frames, or diffused/unsafe glass

    • Works must arrive exhibition-ready with D-rings and wire (no mirror plates)

  • All exhibited works must be for sale.

    Prices must include:

    • the Gallery’s 35% commission

    • any applicable VAT

    • framing costs

    Commission applies to all sales before, during, or as a direct result of the Exhibition.

  • Delivery

    • Delivery dates: 10–12 July 2026

    • Works must be delivered unwrapped with all forms and labels attached

  • Collection dates will be published on the Gallery’s website.

    • These are the only available collection dates

    • Uncollected works will be moved to external storage at the artist’s cost

    • Works uncollected after 3 months may be disposed of

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Portal Opens: 25 March 2026

Portal Closes: 3 June 2026
You have 70 days (just over 2 months) to complete your submission.

Selection Announced: 17 June 2026
Results will be published via the online portal.

Delivery of Selected Works: 10–12 July 2026
Selected artists have 25 days to frame and prepare their artworks for delivery.

Exhibition Dates: 27 July – 23 August 2026
The Summer Exhibition will run for four weeks at The Gallery at Green & Stone.

Collection of Unsold Works: 24 – 26 August 2026
Works that are unsold must be collected from the Gallery on these dates.
